The Mayor of Pontypridd Town Council, Councillor Gwyneth Whiles would like to thank the Mountain Ash RFC Singers for an excellent concert of songs and carols on Saturday 8th December 2012 at the Pontypridd Museum.
David Lewis, the Choir Musical Director led and entertained the audience which was extremely enjoyable and enjoyed by all!!
The Mayor would also like to thank all those who attended and supported the Concert.
The Mayor drew the raffle ticket for the "Doll's House" and the winner was Gwen Williams. Many congratulations to Gwen.
Pontypridd Town Centre

Pontypridd Town Council switched on the Christmas lights on Thursday 15th November and drew a crowd of well over 5,000 from all over South Wales.
The Christmas lights were switched on by the three children from local schools, who had won the Town Council's Christmas Card Competition; Corey Vranch aged 3 from Coedylan Primary School, Cody Jones aged 8 from Maesycoed Primary School and Ellie Holmes aged 10 from Trehopcyn Primary School, the Town Mayor, Cllr Gwyneth Whiles, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Peppa Pig, Barney and of course Santa!
The free event included fairground rides, face painting, a magnificent pyrotechnic show, confetti cannons and gtfm road show entertained the crowd which ranged across the ages.
The crowd's prayers were answered with the weather staying dry ensuring that all those who attended had an evening to remember!
Councillor Gwyneth Whiles said "that she was thrilled with the attendance at the event and thanked those shops and businesses that helped make the event such a success!".

Bathed in glorious sunshine on Saturday 11th August Pontypridd's Ynysangharad War Memorial Park was the venue for Pontypridd Town Council's annual Vintage Transport Day. Now in its seventh year this very popular event saw a huge increase in those taking part and visitors flocking in their thousands to see vintage vehicles including classic cars, buses, steam engines bikes and the PUDC double decker bus.
There was a parade of vehicles through the Town Centre led by Ilan Diamond Jazz Band and the Pontypridd Town Mayor, Councillor Gwyneth Whiles.
The day was a family packed event with children's rides, falconry, face painting, farm, Bridgend Swing Band and much much more!!!
Cllr Allen Bevan, Chair of the Regeneration Committee said "This event has grown from strength to strength, this is down to the dedication and commitment of all those involved. This is just one of the many events that we are involved in. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who took part in making the day a huge success".

Pontypridd Town Council would like to thank everyone who took part in the annual "Ponty's Big Run for Fun" on Sunday 10th June 2012 in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd in aid of this years nominated charity Velindre Cancer Care. The event was a resounding success with a substantial increase in runners.
Congratulations goes to the winner of the 2K - Ryan Phipps with a very impressive time of 10:47.
Congratulations goes to the winner of the 5K - Steven Hooper with a superb time of 18:56.
A special thanks goes to Jeff Rosser, Manager of Barclays Pontypridd Branch and staff for their continuing support with this Run and for being a true Superman in his outfit!
Thanks also goes to "POPSY" for joining in and making this such a worthwhile, enjoyable and happy event.
Councillor Gwyneth Whiles, Pontypridd Town Mayor said that she was "delighted to see so many families taking part and those in fancy dress! The run was fun and very friendly and I am already looking forward to next year's "Ponty's Big Run for Fun".
